My life, at this point in time, revolves around a few very simple things. There are, of course, other things in my world, but the main ones are the ones that mean the most to me RIGHT NOW. They are the 3 F's. )

I love me some Sean Maher. When he isn't making out with my girfriend that is. He needs to keep his creepy hands off my Jewel (as opposed to my Family Jewels...those he can touch if he wants to).

AND OMG - I wish I could go to the convention Elisabeth Rohm is going to be attending. Why, oh, why don't I live in the States?!

Summer. Fucking. Glau. is going to be at Supanova in Brisbane near the end of April. Tickets haven't gone on sale yet so I'm really curious as to what it will cost. If it's cheap enough I'm going.

If not, I'll kill myself.

No wait, I cant do that, because then I wouldn't get to meet Jewel the week after. I'll just be really sad and cry like a little bitch. Yeah, that'll do.

Jonathan Woodward just announced for the Hub Productions Con!

I get to meet Kaylee, Glory/Courtney, and Tracey/Knox/Holden. THAT MAKES ME MIGHTY.

Also, RD Price (Angel producer or some such thing) and Nicola Scott (comic book artist). But they're not QUITE as important as my favourite girls. And Jonathan.

I'm getting a kitten. In like 2 weeks. YAY! I'm still very indecisive on a name as yet, but I don't think I'll know exactly what to call him until I get him.

OOOH. By this time next week I will have in my big, manly hands, a sealed box of Serenity Trading Cards!! I'm so looking forward to that. I really don't want to open all of them at once, but I know what's going to end up happening. I'll get the box, open it up, open 2 or 3 packs and get so excited that I won't be able to stop myself opening the rest. I LOVE EBAY.

I watched D.E.B.S. when I got home from work last night. For about the hundredth time. I never get enough of that movie - Jordana Brewster is just too cute in that role. Sara Foster isn't so bad either. I used to have the original short film of D.E.B.S. on my computer, and I find it amusing that Lucy and Amy were played by Clare Kramer and Alex Brackenridge, who were both on Buffy at one time or another. Plus they make a totally hot couple. Anyway.

I've become obsessed with the song Barely Breathing by Duncan Sheik. I put it on repeat on my MP3 player and listen to it like 10 times in a row. I suppose I should learn to play it now.

Ok, well, I'm off to pay some bills and pay for my Serenity cards. Later days y'all.

C'mon people! The only thing anyone is writing at the Flyfic site is Jayne/Simon. Not that that isnt a quite legitimate (and sometimes nicely erotic) pairing, its just that NOBODY is writing good Kaylee fics...whether that be Kaylee/Inara, or Kaylee/River. I dont mind either way but it just doesnt seem like there is enough good Kaylee fic out there. C'mon people, do your bit to help my life be a little more bearable. Gimme the sexy fics!

This Firefly/Serenity Fanfic site just started up. It takes all pairings and all genres within the Firefly/Serenity 'verses, so if you write (or even just read), please join up so we can get some good fics happening for the nice young lady who owns the site :)

Pretty please?

*Shameless plug for Serenity*

I've seen Serenity 3 times now - once on the worldwide release date, once last Saturday and again yesterday afternoon - and I can guarantee I'll be seeing it at least another 3 times before the run is finished in Australian cinemas. For anybody who hasn't seen it (which I'm really hoping is very few people), I can't recommend the movie highly enough. It's full of ups and downs and obstacles to overcome alongside our Big Damn Heroes, and even for those who haven't seen the Firefly series, Serenity really is something special. To those who have seen it: PLEASE, go and see it again, tell your friends, buy a stranger a ticket, drag your brother or sister along to it even if they kick and scream the whole way there, and if you don't have a brother or sister, gorram it, steal someone else's - do whatever you can, because it's our love, the love of the fans, that keeps our beloved boat (and Big Damn Movie), Serenity, in the sky.

*Thus endeth the shameless plug*

Just went to see Serenity again. Didn't end up going last night since I was at Davids birthday bash. There was, like, four of us. But I did finally get to meet the guy Dave's been in love with since forever, Brady.

He was a great guy, badly in need of a haircut, but cute just the same. And ohhhh so gay.

But anyway back to Serenity. I definitely got through it a lot easier the second time around. I must admit though, the first time I saw the movie I was basically in shock, the second time I knew what was coming and actually had a bit of a cry afterwards. I could deal a bit easier with what had happened.

I still think I'll need to see it at least another 2 or 3 times before I'm fully able to comprehend the whole thing. Not because the movie is difficult to understand but because I was a devout Firefly fan and became attached to the characters over the course of the series, and it feels like all these terrible things are happening to people I've been friends with my whole life. It's not easy to get over bad things happening to good friends.

A great deal of the other people going to see it have never seen Firefly and so are slightly less attached to the characters. This would make it easier for them to distance themselves from the emotion of it all, the emotion that a true fan couldn't (and wouldn't) try to distance himself from.

I guess sometimes the way I talk about Buffy and Firefly can seem extreme, but I think that's the passion of being a true fan. It's not about obsession, and I don't even think it's about a love of the show itself. It's an emotional attachment to the characters, the friendship you feel towards them, even though (contrary to popular belief) they aren't real people. Yes, the actors are real enough, but the characters they play are exactly that. Characters. Roles.

Even so. Buffy, Faith, Dawn, Willow, Anya, Tara, Xander, Kennedy, Giles, Spike and Oz ARE my friends. Mal, Zoe, Wash, Jayne, Kaylee, River, Inara and Simon ARE my friends. Understandably, some people will think I'm crazy, for that statement alone. But there'll be others out there who know EXACTLY what I'm talking about, because all these people are THEIR FRIENDS TOO.

And you guys are the ones I find most worth being friends with because...well, any friend of Kaylee's is a friend of mine :)

I need to process.

I know its been a week since I saw it, but I don't think I've fully processed what went on throughout the movie. Joss has this uncanny ability to surprise you, even with the most predictable move. It's unnerving.

And still I get disoriented when I think about it. It's going to take a few more watches to understand how I feel about where the story of these people is going. Until then, I'm not sure whether to be happy or sad or both.

I shall just stay quietly broken and in awe of the man who should be God.
